Tyreese R. McAllister is a transformational therapist, a dynamic trainer, an anti-gun violence advocate, and 5x author, with three best sellers to her credit. She owns Clinical & Forensic Associates Inc. CFA transforms public safety systems by supporting law enforcement personnel on and off duty. She trains officers to work with vulnerable citizens and provides critical mental health services to first responders and their families.
Tyreese and her husband Anthony co-founded the Ayana J. McAllister Legacy Foundation after their 18-year-old daughter was killed by gun violence in 2017. Tyreese not only was able to forgive the person who killed her daughter, she triumphed over her trauma to become a national advocate on the issue. Tyreese is best known for her role as a Public Safety Strategist, combing her work with law enforcement and her advocacy work in the gun violence space, to keep the community safe. She is a passionate public servant who cares deeply about being an agent of change in her personal and professional life.
Tyreese has 30 years of experience in the emergency mental health field, working on the front lines of public health disparities. She has been the recipient of many awards for her work, books, and community advocacy, but being named 2021 Mental Health Advocate of the Year and a Humanitarian Award for her advocacy work in the gun violence arena are among the recognitions she cherishes the most. Everyone who has ever met Tyreese know two things about her, she is a proud graduate from Shaw University and a member of Delta Sigma Theta Inc. The only things she loves more is God and her family.
Anthony Jerome McAllister is a respected community leader, advocate, and author who has dedicated his life to making a positive impact on individuals and communities. His unwavering commitment to service and his passion for creating change are evident in all aspects of his life.
Anthony Jerome McAllister is the Chief Operating Officer of Clinical & Forensic Associates Inc. Throughout his career, Anthony has been a prominent leader in both the Alexandria, Virginia, and Prince George’s County, Maryland communities. For the past 30 years, he diligently served the City of Alexandria as a Juvenile Probation/Parole Officer, making a significant impact on the lives of many youth and their families. Anthony’s unwavering commitment to helping at-risk individuals transform into vital and prominent members of their communities earned him the esteemed title of employee of the year of the Alexandria Juvenile Court Service Unit in 2009. He retired from his Juvenile Justice career on July 1, 2022.
In recognition of his personal and professional achievements, community service, and contributions to Saint Augustine’s University (SAU), Anthony was chosen as a William Jefferson Jackson award honoree in October 2018. This prestigious award celebrates the sons and daughters of SAU who have made significant contributions to society. Additionally, Anthony received an award from the Prince George’s County Chapter of the Congress of Black Women in the same year for his anti-gun violence advocacy work and the scholarships provided by the Ayana J. McAllister Legacy Foundation. Anthony and Tyreese are co-authors of the book “Mind over Matter” and Anthony is the lead author of the anthology “Fathers Matter: Changing the Narrative on Black Fathers.” The foreword for this important project was written by Dr. Andrew A. Anthony is an ordained Deacon with Galilee Baptist Church in Suitland, Maryland, where he serves as the Chair of the Men’s Ministry. He is also a proud member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc., having been a member for 35 years and currently serving in the Gamma Pi Chapter in Prince George’s County, Maryland. In October 2019, Anthony was appointed and confirmed as a member of the newly formed Prince George’s County Commission on Fathers, Men, and Boys. In February 2022, he was appointed by Maryland Governor Larry Hogan to the Maryland Parole Commission, where he currently works.
He is a proud graduate of Saint Augustine’s College, now University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Organizational Communications in 1988. As a dedicated husband and father, Anthony has been happily married to his incredibly supportive wife, Tyreese, for the past 30 years. Together, they are proud parents and grandparents to their grandson, Zyir Anthony Melton.
Dr. Tyreese R. McAllister has over 30 years of experience, providing quality mental health services. She specializes in emergency mental health helping individuals experiencing both crisis and/or traumatic events. Tyreese has a Masters of Art in Counseling Psychology and a Post Masters Certificate in Addiction Counseling from Johns Hopkins University.
